Overeating cause of childhood obesity

A study commissioned by the New South Wales government into childhood obesity brought forth the first conclusive evidence that excessive eating and not lack of exercise is the cause of escalating levels of childhood obesity. 

Dr Michael Booth, who conducted the state-wide survey, is of the opinion that TV food advertisements and toy giveaways should be regulated and firms that promote high-calorie foods with limited nutritional value should be banned from sponsorship of junior sports.
