Penangites themselves have to clean up their act

I AM not surprised that Penang will experience a water crisis in the near future. Penangites have themselves to blame as they treat their rivers and streams as a dumping ground for their litter.

The stream in Island Park is a revolting sight. Its banks are strewn with all kinds of litter such as broken pails, plastic bottles, empty paint tins, boxes and broken photo frames.
