NO money – that is the pathetic excuse given by many municipal councils for failing to install closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras in crime-prone areas after the project was mooted more than 18 months ago. 

Malaysians can hardly be blamed if they throw up their hands in despair at the very mention of our municipal councils. There seems to be no end to the complaints levelled against them, ranging from plain inefficiency to wastage of public funds.
