Allow religious institutions to legalise marriages

IT was an eye opener when I recently attended a marriage legalising ceremony, if I can call it one, at the Registrar of Marriages for non-Muslims, at the National Registration Department in Ipoh. 

For all appearances it was merely a RM30 oath-taking ritual by the couple concerned, with two witnesses in attendance minus the solemnity of the occasion.
