I WOULD like to point out to “A Parent” of Kuala Lumpur that studies conducted by experts constantly confirm that academic achievement is not the sole indicator of a person’s inclination, ability and potential, “Don’t deny smart students” (The Star, June 9).
By this parent’s judgment, 13 1As should be an automatic passport to a scholarship and the best available education. Yet, any teacher will tell you that scoring in an examination, especially an objective one, is generally a matter of learning certain examination techniques.
