DHAKA: The government has a clean chit from the US State Department for its recent successes in fighting off trafficking in persons.
The formal recognition has come by way of de-listing us from a set of countries perceived by the US to have failed to combat international sex trafficking adequately. That list, inclusive of Bangladesh, was released last June conveying the prospect of a cut-off in non-humanitarian and non-trade related US aid.
