SEOUL: “Korea-Japan Friendship Year 2005”, a product of a 2003 summit between President Roh Moo-hyun and Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi, kicked off this week – Tuesday in Tokyo and Thursday in Seoul.
It marks the 40th anniversary of the normalisation of relations between the two neighbours but it also signifies that the two nations recognise a new need for conscientious efforts to upgrade mutual understanding and friendship.
