THICK overalls, blast vest and a full-faced Perspex helmet are not exactly the most comfortable attire for working under the blazing sun. Then again, the deminers garb is not designed for comfort, but for protection against injuries from landmines and UXO blasts.
No matter how hot it gets, the women deminers know they must not remove their helmets for they are always reminded of how dangerous their work is. They fence up areas suspected to be contaminated with mines and erect signs to warn people about the danger of stepping behind the lines.
