Facing the grim reality of new terrorism

IT’S hard for fun-loving, sporting Australians to imagine that they are confronted with terrorism that will linger on for more than a generation. 

But they have to understand that this threat is now part of their everyday life wherever they go and whatever they do. They will remain a target of the al-Qaeda network and its allies, including the Jemaah Islamiah (JI).
