Put more policemen on the streets

WHAT has happened to the policemen we used to see in strategic locations in Selangor last year? They seem to have disappeared. Or have they been retired from the force?

The idea to have these policemen around was definitely good and we could approach them in times of emergency. They help to deter potential snatch thieves and other criminals.

Nowadays if you want to see a policeman, you would have to go to the police station. What has happened to the police patrols?

I live in Petaling Jaya and drive in and out at least three times a day, in the morning, afternoon and evening to pick up and drop my children.

My journey is from SS2 to Section 14, to 1 Utama and to Tun Ismail and back. The only policeman I see everyday is the one at the Rothmans roundabout in the morning. No wonder the snatch thieves are so bold nowadays.

I hope the Royal Commission on the Police will finish its work soon and one of its recommendations should be to have more police patrols on the streets.

I would also suggest that the Police Department use members of the Federal Reserve Unit to join in these patrols from time to time.
