THE Government’s decision to maintain the 110kph limit on highways must have come as a kick in the teeth for those who had, for the past 10 months, been eagerly awaiting the go-ahead to speed up. 

Since it was announced in March last year that the Cabinet had agreed, in principle, to raise the maximum speed limit on highways from 110kph to 120kph, indications had been that it would be implemented soon.
