PROPOSALS to get motorists to be conscious of road safety to reduce the number of accidents are coming in thick and fast as the rate of fatalities remains unabated despite appeals to travellers to drive carefully.

But it will take time to get the public to be more considerate on the road and to observe the traffic rules. Education is one good way of inculcating this safety culture but this is a long process.
