Finally, agreement on quality of water

IT IS most heartening to note Works Minister Datuk Seri S. Samy Vellu has finally admitted the water quality in the Klang Valley has become a serious concern and needs improvement, “Why water quality is poor”, (The Star, Sept 27)

His admission contrasted sharply with his remarks early this year in response to Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin’s proposal to carry out laboratory tests on potable water supplied to Kuala Lumpur, “Water tests should be for all of Klang Valley”, (The Star, Jan 23).
