IN THE 2004 Budget, the Government has proposed road tax exemption for motorcycles with engine capacity not exceeding 150cc to help reduce the financial burden of low-income earners, youths and students.

As expected, the Government’s proposal had been hailed as a good move by motorcyclists as it would result in some savings for them. About 5.6 million bikers will benefit from the exemption.
