Call to fight graft in civil service timely

DEPUTY Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi’s statement that fighting corruption is absolutely necessary to improve the civil service and make Malaysia more competitive is timely and relevant, “DPM: Graft is cancerous”, (The Star, Sept 10). 

It is true the deplorable practice is a cancer that has to be removed immediately before it gets worse.
