THE National Social Policy (NSP) has noble aims, which among others, is to ensure that citizens have the right to basic needs and the opportunity to enhance their quality of life in terms of health, education, career, safety, spirituality and information.

“We have so many policies affecting society but they are in bits and pieces and focused on specific purposes. Now for the first time, there is a comprehensive policy that spells out everything affecting people,” said Prof Datuk Dr Abdullah Malim Baginda, chairman of the National Council of Welfare and Social Development Malaysia.
