The discovery last month of one of the original five bastions of the A Famosa in Malacca has renewed interest in the fort that was built by the Portuguese 450 years ago. VANITHA NADARAJ reports.
IT was almost 8am in mid-August, 1807, and Capt William Farquhar of the English East India Company was looking at the dark red walls of the 20m-high A Famosa Fort.
