WE have to pull up our socks if Malaysia wants to show the world that we are an IT-savvy nation. Those who tried to download the booklet Water: The Singapore-Malaysia Dispute on Monday found themselves surfing on barren land instead.

The National Economic Action Council website (www.neac.gov.my) had the portable document file (pdf) version of the online files. As a result, the overall webpage was extremely slow. Struggling to download the pages, users found each page was a whopping 300kb.
