WITH reference to Chitra Sakrabani’s letter, “Varsity curriculum needs review” (The Star, July 2), I would like to express my regrets that many may have misunderstood what a university education is all about.
A degree should not be viewed as an end in itself, or as a ticket to a secure and high-paying white-collar occupation. A degree is but a piece of paper.
