IT seemed like a typical afternoon outside Sin Swee Jong’s house in Jalan Cheras. The 80-year-old lady was chatting with her neighbours, Ang Luan, 82, and recently moved in Lah Foh, 72, who were sitting on plastic chairs on the veranda.
After a while, Sin’s maid came out to wheel her in for her bath. (Sin has difficulty walking). Ang and Lah continued with their conversation as their other neighbours rested in their homes or watched television.
