THE 4.25% dividend announced by the Employees Provident Fund for last year, as expected, has gone down badly with the non-governmental organisations, especially the trade unions and the consumer bodies.
This negative reaction has been expected and the EPF is likely to be strongly criticised by these groups so long as it is unable to deliver better yields which the contributors have come to expect.
