Varsities can use assets to meet financial shortfall

A 20 PER CENT cut in the budget of an organisation can seriously affect its normal operations and if it is to be business as usual in spite of the loss, it will need to meet this financial shortfall on its own steam. 

This is the daunting situation facing the nation's public universities, come 2010. The Government has proposed this to reduce its expenditure on the universities, which comes to RM3.5bil a year.
