Spurt in domestic tourism after campaign

THE “Cuti Cuti Malaysia” campaign promoted by the Culture, Arts and Tourism Ministry since 2000 has brought about an estimated 30% growth in domestic tourism, reported the Sin Chew Daily

The president of the Malaysian Chinese Tour Agents Association, Chan San Soon, told the newspaper that the increasing hotel bookings in the country's major towns and holiday destinations was evidence of the rise in domestic tourism.
