Set up more drug rehab centres, groups urged

THERE is a serious need for more religious bodies and non-governmental organisations interested in drug rehabilitation work to help set up drug rehabilitation centres to cope with the increasing number of addicts requiring treatment and rehabilitation.

By doing so, these bodies can play an important role to assist the Government in striving towards making the nation drug-free by 2015. At the same time state governments should extend assistance to interested religious bodies and NGOs by only charging a token premium on approved land required for the setting up of the centres.
