AFTER 16 years of untiring efforts to claim his pension, an 85-year-old ex-civil servant was finally rewarded when he received backdated payment from the Public Services Department (PSD), reported Malaysia Nanban and Tamil Nesan.

Both dailes highlighted the case of P. Konadaisamy, who retired as a labourer of the Ipoh City Council on May 1, 1969. He received his pension for the next 18 years but the PSD suddenly stopped sending pension warrants in 1987 without giving any reason.
