AS recently as the 1980s, Cameron Highlands was listed internationally as among the top 10 best places in the world to live. This was mainly because of the cool climate and tranquil atmosphere that made the hill station a healthy, peaceful and serene retreat. 

But recent years have seen anti-social operators abusing the land to the detriment of all. The lure of quick profits seduced some business people to make the highland resort the opposite of everything it was once proud to be.
