Ensure foreign workers are healthy

I AM glad we have decided on compulsory medical check-ups to weed out sick foreign labour.

This should have been done a long time ago. However, it is better late than never.

We simply cannot afford ill persons entering our labour market as they do not fit our bill.

They might even make us ill as well and burden employers and the Government.

All foreign labour must be fit and healthy.

I hope in future we are proactive in such matters. We should stop being reactive.

As I see it, we usually tend to the effect, not the cause. This is poor planning.

We should change our paradigm here.
