WHEN the Putra LRT first began its operations from Kelana Jaya to Pasar Seni, Kuala Lumpur, in August 1998, it gave special discount fares for senior citizens.
Subsequently, in November 1998, it reduced the fare structure across the board and the special discount for senior citizens was withdrawn concurrently.
However, in April last year, it raised the fares again but the discount for senior citizens withdrawn in 1998 was not restored.
On behalf of senior citizens, I would like to request Putra LRT to kindly consider restoring the special discount. Just for the record, KTMB still gives the 50% discount for senior citizens when they register with it; a registration fee of RM5 is charged.
