Women barking up wrong tree

DO NOT get me wrong. I do not support marrying more than one. In fact, I am not sure why anyone would wish to do so. I think having one wife is already more than a handful.

Nevertheless, I believe the current controversy caused by Perlis Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Shahidan Kassim is just a gimmick to get attention.

However, may I be brave enough to say that women's rights groups are barking up the wrong tree. These groups should persuade women not to be the second, third or fourth wife by saying no to the man.

Surely, if women were really sincere about protecting their rights then they must protect the sisterhood and say no.

It is immaterial whether the first wife gives her consent or not if the second woman just says no. How is it the women’s groups are oblivious to this?

It is just like bribery and drug addiction. If the giver or seller is not there, nothing further will happen.

I urge the women's rights groups to start a campaign to get women to say noto playing second fiddle.
