THE response by Andal Narayanan, “Hindus in India do visit homes of Muslim friends,’’ (The Star, Jan 8) to my letter, “Religion angle to social issues’’, (The Star, Dec 24) is to be welcomed because it offers the opportunity to further clarify some of the seemingly controversial arguments in my earlier comment. 

The view expressed was by a UN personnel and he was referring to Hindus as a group rather than individuals eating in Muslim homes during Hari Raya.
