BEIJING: The rising number of China’s urban poor who are subsidised by the government should not become an excuse to delay the country’s reform process, which seeks to establish a more liberalised market and a government system that intervenes less in the economy.
Rather, the government should continue its transformation from a market player to a general market regulator.
