TEACHERS selected to teach Mathematics, Science and English will not get the special allowance allotted to them if they fail to fulfil the weekly 20-period teaching requirement, according to a report in Tamil Nesan.

Quoting National Union of Teaching Profession (NUTP) secretary general Datuk N. Siva Subramaniam, the report said that generally, primary school teachers of these subjects would not be eligible for this benefit as they normally spend just nine periods on the subjects each week.
