I REFER to your report, “Johor Umno Youth island trip scuttled” (The Star, Dec 31).
As the matter will be referred to the International Court of Justice, I think we should let it rest, no matter what Singapore is doing or trying to do on the island.
As Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Mahathir Mohamad had rightly pointed out few days ago, we are not about to start a war against anyone.
The Umno Youth had already registered its protest with the Singapore High Commission last week. What were they trying to do by hiring a trawler to go to Pulau Batu Putih? Fortunately, our police stopped them.
I strongly urge the Umno Youth to keep its cool and handle this issue in a mature way.
Let the ICJ decide.
