Keep Tamil alive, Siva tells teachers

TEACHERS in Tamil schools have been advised to sharpen their skills in teaching the other subjects in Tamil once Mathematics and Science are taught in English in primary schools next week, Malaysia Nanban reported. 

The daily quoted National Union of Teaching Profession secretary-general Datuk N. Siva Subramaniam as saying that teachers should ensure that Tamil was used in vernacular schools to develop pupils' fluency in the language.
