LABOUR Day is awesome isn’t it? A celebration of the efforts of the working class, the backbone of our economic and industrial development. While corporate big wigs usually grab the limelight, Labour Day is one day when the ordinary worker gets his or her due.
In more than 80 countries around the world on May 1, trade unions, leftist parties and other affiliated cohorts marched in solidarity in celebration of struggles past. Struggles that brought us things we take for granted like the five day working week, minimum wage and medical coverage.
