Awas – the route to better road safety

SAVING lives and limbs is not just about amazing feats of heroism and selflessness. More often than not, foresight, care and awareness can be equally effective. And what each of us does can mean the difference between life and death.

Nowhere is this more true than on the roads. Last year, 521,466 road accidents were reported in Malaysia. That is a rate of almost an accident every minute. These accidents resulted in 7,152 fatalities, which means close to 20 road users lost their lives each day.
