Lawyers and their social circles

BACK when those who wanted to study law had few institutions of higher learning to choose from, there was more camaraderie among lawyers. However, a law graduate today comes from any of a growing list of local and foreign schools, and there is rarely a strong bond between lawyers who have studied in different universities.

Some lawyers do end up knowing each other through their time in the courts or tribunals. While this is the case with litigation lawyers, those who are mostly involved in conveyancing and corporate matters usually communicate with each other through e-mail and the phone.
