PAS’ play on LGBT

Hard stance: It should be an easy win for Pakatan in Seri Setia as PAS’ tactic of whacking Selangor as an LGBT state might be counterproductive.

SO far, the only interesting issue coming out of the rather tepid Seri Setia by-election is that PAS has claimed that it was a fight against a government that is soft on the LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender) community.

Writing in Harakah, the PAS news organ, columnist Subky Latif opined: “Don’t assume that the Seri Setia by-election on September 8 is simply a contest between PAS and Pakatan Harapan, or Opposition and government, but it can be seen as PAS fighting a government that is soft with the LGBT race.”
