A NEW race has shot off the blocks in Malaysian politics. Done subtly in the past only to their respective galleries, Umno and PAS have started an unapologetic open movement that could potentially divide the nation into two.
They tried and tested it successfully in the last two by-elections, where their leaders blatantly used race-baiting with no holds barred. Now they are set to use this formula again in the Rantau by-election next month. In other words, their battle cry is: “Win at any cost, never mind if the nation is blazed in the process”.
