AN elderly fruit vendor in Sri Gading, Johor, has touched the hearts of many by giving away free slices of watermelon to students in the scorching heat.
A video shared on TikTok by user ‘een_naa’ shows the vendor at a school entrance, happily distributing watermelon slices from the back of his truck.
The students are also seen showing their gratitude, reported China Press.
The man’s act of kindness has sparked widespread appreciation, with many expressing admiration for his generosity, likening his treatment of the students to how one would care for their own grandchildren.

Sharp-eyed enforcement officers identified the violation and impounded the car on the spot.

Realising the distress caused, officials issued a formal apology, admitting the situation highlighted the urgent need for clearer and more sensitive communication with grieving families.
