Crude futures settle higher

NEW YORK, Dec. 22 (Xinhua) -- Oil prices climbed on Monday.

The West Texas Intermediate for February delivery gained 1.49 U.S. dollars, or 2.64 percent, to settle at 58.01 dollars a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange. Brent crude for February delivery went up 1.6 dollars, or 2.65 percent, to settle at 62.07 dollars a barrel on the London ICE Futures Exchange.
