Crude futures settle higher

NEW YORK, Dec. 19 (Xinhua) -- Oil prices climbed on Friday.

The West Texas Intermediate for January delivery went up 51 cents, or 0.91 percent, to settle at 56.66 U.S. dollars a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange. Brent crude for February delivery increased by 65 cents, or 1.09 percent, to settle at 60.47 dollars a barrel on the London ICE Futures Exchange.
