Foreign investment in Turkmenistan reaches 1.4 bln USD in 2024: minister

ALMATY, Sept. 18 (Xinhua) -- Foreign investment in Turkmenistan reached 1.4 billion U.S. dollars in 2024, equivalent to 11.6 percent of the total investment, Minister of Finance and Economy Mammetguly Astangulov said Thursday.

Speaking at the Turkmenistan Investment Forum, the minister noted that total investment in the country's economy reached 12.1 billion dollars last year, up 9 percent from 2023.

He emphasized that attracting foreign capital remains a key priority of Turkmenistan's economic policy, highlighting oil and gas, petrochemicals, energy, and construction as strategic sectors.
