QUITO (Reuters) -Hundreds of Ecuadorean police seized over $313 million in real estate assets in a mass raid of properties held by the Comandos de la Frontera, or 'Border Command,' armed group, the interior ministry said in a statement on Tuesday.
The ministry said the group was "funneling large amounts of money into the national financial system from illicit activities such as organized crime related to drug trafficking."
In a post on social media, President Daniel Noboa called the operation the "biggest blow to criminal economies in Ecuador's history."
