Fire contained at historic site in Cordoba, Spain


MADRID, Aug. 8 (Xinhua) -- A fire broke out late Friday evening at the historic mosque/cathedral in the southern Spanish city of Cordoba and was successfully extinguished, local media reported.

No casualties or individuals trapped were reported in the blaze, according to Spanish broadcaster Cadena SER, which also confirmed that a section of the site was affected by the fire.
