U.S. consumer confidence rebounds as trade tensions ease

NEW YORK, May 27 (Xinhua) -- Consumer confidence saw a stronger-than-expected rebound in May, breaking a five-month streak of declines that had pushed sentiment to its lowest level since the COVID-19 pandemic.

The improvement came even as businesses continued to warn about potential price hikes linked to tariffs, despite U.S. President Donald Trump's recent moves to ease trade policies.
