UK, US forces conduct joint operation against Houthi military target in Yemen


(Reuters) - British and U.S. forces participated in a joint military operation in Yemen on Tuesday, Britain's Ministry of Defence said in a statement on Wednesday.

The strike was conducted after dark, when the likelihood of any civilians being in the area was reduced, the statement said, adding that its aircraft returned safely.

A U.S. airstrike killed 68 people at a a detention centre for African migrants in Yemen on Monday, a Houthi-controlled television said.
