Rwanda's urban inflation rises by 6.5 pct year-on-year in March


KIGALI, April 11 (Xinhua) -- Rwanda's urban inflation rose sharply in March 2025, with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) increasing by 6.5 percent compared to the same period in 2024, according to a report released Friday by the National Institute of Statistics of Rwanda (NISR).

On a monthly basis, urban inflation increased by 1.3 percent between February and March 2025, the report said. The annual average inflation rate between March 2025 and March 2024 was 5.3 percent, highlighting sustained upward pressure on consumer prices.
