China unveils plan to boost health-related consumption


BEIJING, April 9 (Xinhua) -- Chinese authorities on Wednesday released an action plan to boost health-related consumption as the country moves to improve the quality of its health products and services, and to meet the people's expanding needs in their pursuit of a better life.

To spur such spending, China will work to increase the healthiness of people's diets and improve the market supply of special foods, according to the plan, which was formulated by the country's commerce ministry and 11 other government departments.
