OTTAWA, Feb. 6 (Xinhua) -- Bombardier Inc. on Thursday deferred providing investors with a financial forecast for 2025 due to the uncertainty posed by the U.S. tariff threats.
The Montreal-based business jet manufacturer said in a news release that in light of the rapidly evolving landscape stemming from executive orders signed by the president of the United States regarding new tariffs, Bombardier has elected to defer providing guidance and 2025 objectives.
The company would further assess the direct and indirect impacts to its business of such tariffs, retaliatory tariffs or other trade protectionist measures implemented as this situation develops, the release said.
According to local media, the tariffs would pose big problems for Bombardier, which counts more than 2,800 suppliers across 47 states in the United States. American buyers accounted for 63 percent of its revenue in 2023.
Bombardier on Thursday reported total revenues of 8.7 billion Canadian dollars (6.1 billion U.S. dollars) for 2024, surpassing guidance with an 8 percent increase year over year, driven by a solid delivery mix of 146 aircraft and record services revenue performance exceeding 2 billion Canadian dollars.
